Counselling in Dublin – Compassionate Support for Life’s Challenges

Dealing-With-Stress-and-Anger-Management

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, confusing, or emotionally painful. Whether you’re facing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief, or simply need someone to talk to, counselling offers a safe and confidential space to explore your thoughts and feelings. At Louise Kervick Therapy in Dublin, I provide professional, empathetic counselling tailored to your individual needs and experiences.

Why Consider Counselling?

Everyone faces emotional difficulties at some point. Talking to a qualified therapist can help you make sense of what’s going on and find ways to move forward. Counselling is not just about resolving problems — it’s about gaining self-awareness, emotional resilience, and healthier coping strategies.

You might benefit from counselling if you’re experiencing:

Persistent anxiety or stress, Depression or low mood, Grief and loss, Difficult life transitions, Low self-esteem or confidence, Relationship issues or breakups, Family conflict or communication challenges, Past trauma or emotional wounds

Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. My approach is supportive, respectful, and non-judgmental, helping you explore your inner world in a safe environment.

About Louise Kervick – Dublin-Based Therapist

I am a fully accredited counsellor and psychotherapist with years of experience supporting clients across a wide range of emotional and psychological issues. Based in Dublin, I offer both in-person and online counselling to suit your preferences and lifestyle.

My work is grounded in empathy, integrity, and a belief in each person’s capacity for growth and healing. Every individual brings their own unique story — my role is to help you understand yours more deeply and make empowered choices for your well-being.

What to Expect in a Counselling Session

The counselling process is collaborative. During our sessions, I will listen attentively and supportively, helping you identify patterns, explore underlying emotions, and develop practical strategies for change.

Each session typically lasts 50 minutes. You set the pace. There is no pressure to talk about anything you’re not ready for. I work integratively, drawing from various therapeutic models including:

  • Person-Centred Therapy

  • Psychodynamic Therapy

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Mindfulness-Based Approaches

Together, we’ll tailor a therapeutic approach that works best for you.

Counselling for Anxiety, Stress, and Overwhelm

Anxiety can feel like your mind is constantly racing or your body is on high alert. It might interfere with sleep, relationships, work, or everyday tasks. Whether it’s generalised anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety, or work-related stress, therapy can help you manage symptoms and understand their root causes.

Through counselling, we’ll explore your thoughts, emotions, and bodily experiences, helping you create a calmer, more grounded way of living.

Support for Depression and Low Mood

Depression often makes people feel stuck, disconnected, and exhausted. It can affect how you view yourself, others, and the world. In counselling, we work together to uncover the underlying emotions contributing to your low mood and develop tools to lift the heaviness that may be holding you back.

It’s okay to not be okay — and it’s even more okay to reach out for support.

Relationship and Family Counselling

Relationships — whether romantic, familial, or friendships — play a central role in our emotional wellbeing. Yet, they can also bring stress, conflict, and miscommunication.

Counselling can help you:

  • Improve communication

  • Address recurring conflicts

  • Set healthy boundaries

  • Process separation or divorce

  • Heal from betrayal or loss

You might come for individual counselling to work through relationship issues, or we may explore options for couples therapy or family-focused support.

Counselling for Grief and Loss

Grief is a deeply personal and often isolating experience. It doesn’t follow a straight line and affects everyone differently. Whether you’re mourning a loved one, coping with miscarriage, or struggling with ambiguous loss, therapy offers a compassionate space to process your feelings and honour your loss.

There is no right or wrong way to grieve — only your way.

Building Confidence and Self-Esteem

Many clients come to therapy feeling ‘not good enough’, unsure of themselves, or stuck in negative self-beliefs. Low self-esteem can stem from early experiences, critical inner voices, or life challenges that shake your confidence.

Together, we work to strengthen your self-worth, identify unhelpful patterns, and foster a more accepting, compassionate relationship with yourself.

Trauma-Informed Counselling

If you’ve experienced trauma — whether recent or in the past — it may continue to affect your thoughts, emotions, and behaviour in the present. Trauma-informed counselling creates a safe space for healing without re-traumatising.

We work gently, at your pace, using approaches that respect your story and nervous system. You are not alone — and your experiences are valid.

Teen and Young Adult Counselling

Adolescence and early adulthood bring unique challenges: identity, peer pressure, academic stress, social media impact, and family conflict. I offer counselling for teens and young adults, supporting them through emotional difficulties with empathy and age-appropriate tools.

Creating trust and safety is at the heart of this work, helping younger clients feel seen and heard without judgment.

Online Counselling Options

Can’t attend in person? I offer secure online counselling sessions for clients across Dublin and beyond. Online therapy is just as effective as face-to-face work and offers greater flexibility for busy schedules or those with mobility concerns.

All sessions are conducted via encrypted video platforms to ensure confidentiality and comfort.
